Valentine Wreath

So - here is my wreath. That I have quite literally - used all year 'round. I found this little baby at a yard sale about a year ago. It was originally a Mantle hanging. You know, it has the twined handle at the top for hanging, then it trails down like a branch. Well, I bought this for $2 and I just wrapped it around into a 'wreath' shape circle. Took a couple of the twiggy parts and twisted them together. Stuck that end on the nail in the wall. There ya have it. A wreath.
I added the red ribbon from my
local craft store. Well, I bought it about 2 years ago. My husband and I renewed our Wedding Vows in 2009 and my colors were red, black, and white. So, I didn't just go out and by this now. Pretty sweet. The little red bow at the top was attached to our Flutes during our wedding reception. I had tons left over. lol. Easy Peezy.
What do you think? Not bad for about $3!

Tickle Me Pink

*****
I just love Valentine's Day! Don't you? I love getting to wear pinks & reds on my nails. *smiles* I usually don't wear nail polish on my finger nails. I do on my toes...but not fingers. Anyway - today I am taking a little rest and pampering myself a bit. So, out comes the nail kit. My two selections are Fuscia and Viva Pink. I didn't want to go the red 'Cherry' route today...maybe next week. *winks* Hmm...I have on Revlon's 'Light' right now. It is a beautiful, simple pink.
...........
Yep. Gonna go with Viva Pink. *smiles* Anyone ever pamper themselves. Just out of the blue? What do you do to relax and rejuvenate? Bubble bath? By candlelight? Reading a book? Mani-Pedi? Let me know! Seriously. I'd like to see if ppl actually read my blog. HA.

Be My Valentine?

Valentine's Day is only 13 days away! I am so excited! I just love these Sweet Tarts conversation hearts. I can't stop at just one. Or two. Or 10. lol. This year I would like to surprise my sweetie with a night of romance...we will see if I can deliver. *winks* Hoping I can get mamaw and papaw in on it and watch my munchkins for a night...we will see how that will go down. Ha Ha. If not - I can deal with a chick flick and some chocolate covered strawberries. :)
Anyone have any plans on V-Day? Any special traditions you and your hunny keep up with?

{if anyone knows this blogger, please let me know so I can credit them!}
I found this adorable little cake on a blog while surfing the net most of the day last weekend - for birthday themes for my soon to be 4 year old. I had done soooo much looking that I forgot where I found this one. lol.
I already have a cakery planning this one out. I am so excited she can do it! :)
What do you guys think?

.Camp Out Birthday Party.

.first of all I need to give this girl a BIG hello! her blog is amazing - and to her I am grateful, because she is the reason I am having this theme for my son's 4th birthday this year.

So how cool is this?!?!?!? I have already started jotting down notes on how to make everything, what to buy, and just how awesome it will be! He is going to love this - plus he totally adores the outdoors! I also found another idea blogging around over the past couple of months - to serve beverages such as Lemonade out of Ball Canning jars. Or to serve Izze soda pop...or something in glass bottles with a crazy straw...so inspiring! :)

Winter Wonderland

I woke up this morning to a b-e-a-utiful blanket of 8 inches of snow. *smiles* I have loved this week. Entirely. Gonna venture out later and make a snowman with my little munchkin. I have made some "New Year" resolutions that I plan on sticking to for the rest of my life. I have started working out again - after 4 years - I do 30 solid minutes each day of a mixture of sit-ups, crunches, stretches, arm circles, yoga poses, and stepping (using stairs). I feel so much better. I have also implemented a new diet. Well, it isn't really a 'diet' persay. It is just eating healthier, and having portion control. I am so proud of my little family totally adjusting to it so well. I have also made it a #1 priority to not only work out and eat healthier ever single day, but to read my Bible. And have a closer, more personal, relationship with my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
I am just so thrilled about this new year, and this new journey of life we are all taking on at the Stanley home. I hope everyone out there in the blogging world is doing well. I know for me and my house, we WILL serve the Lord!
Also - we have committed to tame down the t.v., internet, radio time. I have decided NOT to spend all of my waking hours on FB or here, or sitting around watching t.v. all day. Ha. I hope that maybe even some of you out there, can enjoy this freedom too. Let me tell ya, I have thoroughly enjoyed catching up on ALOT of reading, spending time with my family and just loving and living my LIFE. This beautiful life that GOD has blessed me with.

long time no blog

Wow. It seems like forever since I have blogged. Ha! Having a 3 1/2 year old and a 3 month old will cause that though. lol. I have been doing great - very busy - but great. However, the past few days haven't been 'super'. E.J. got sick a week or so ago, and now I have it. Uggh. No flu. Just cough & cold. But that is more than enough. Blah. I had a wonderful Christmas and a great New Year's. I hope you all had a great one too. *winks*
My new years resolution was this: To maintain a healthy weight, walk every day, eat healthier, live a healthy lifestyle, be more committed to my relationships (friends), and spend more time tending to my children's needs instead of my house chores. And last, but sure not least - in fact I should have put this one first - to grow more closely to my Father in Heaven, my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
I have been reading "Reshaping it All" by Candace Cameron Bure. It is an amazing book. I suggest any woman to read it - especially Christian women. It is about living healthier, losing weight and keeping it off, and just loving your life. I know I love the book.
I will update more - and try to post some more pictures. I would like to start a 'picture a day' thing. We will see if I can keep up. LOL. Till another time. I bid you farewell, blogging world.
*edit* I SO cannot wait for Spring. I am so excited for flowers, iced tea, sidewalk chalk, and walks in the park!! Who else is with me? *smiles*
